Automatic updates

Direct-download versions of TypeSwitcher keep themselves up to date automatically. Every update is cryptographically signed and verified before installation.

macOS

The macOS version uses Sparkle — the same update framework trusted by thousands of Mac apps. You can change the check frequency or run a manual Check for Updates from the TypeSwitcher menu.

Windows

The Windows version uses WinSparkle. When a new version is available you'll see a notification with the release notes and can install it in one click.

What the update check sends

The update check is a standard HTTP request for an appcast file. It never transmits the text you type or any personal data — see the Privacy Policy.

Store versions

Mac App Store and Microsoft Store builds have no built-in update check; updates are delivered by the respective store.
